Enrollment and Wait Lists
Students should enroll promptly at their scheduled booking window(s) to ensure their best chances of booking in desired courses. Check Triton Student System (TSS) for booking window start times.
Lecture Courses
The School of Biological Sciences follows university enrollment and electronic wait list processes for all lecture courses. Students should use Triton Student System (TSS) for add/drop/change requests through Friday of Week 2, the university's official deadline to add classes. Students may continue to drop without a "W," change grading option and number of units (if applicable) via Triton Student System (TSS) through Friday of Week 4. Students may continue to drop with a "W" via Triton Student System (TSS) through Friday of Week 6.
If on the wait list for a course, the wait list system runs automatically, in real time, through Friday of Week 2, adding eligible students in the order that they appear on a space available basis. After Friday, a student's position on the wait list is no longer valid.
The School will only consider late adds (Weeks 3-10) on a space available basis and with the permission of the instructor. Late add requests may be submitted via the UC San Diego Triton Enrollment Authorization (TEA) tool. Late adds are not guaranteed. (To access TEA, log in to Triton Student System using your Active Directory single sign-on (SSO) and then search for "TEA" to navigate to that tool).
Please review Undergraduate Enrollment for additional information.
Lab Courses
There are special regulations, procedures and deadlines associated with booking biology lab courses. Please see Lab Course Information for details.
Non-UC San Diego Student Enrollment
Non-matriculated individuals have a number of options for which to take individual classes at UC San Diego.
If a student is administratively dropped from a course (e.g. due to non-payment, missing prerequisites, etc.), their seat in the course or spot on the waitlist is relinquished to the next student eligible to enroll in the course. The School does not guarantee enrollment to students who have been dropped from courses.
